Join us on Friday 16th February for the next 'All-Night Psychedelic Gong Bath' - a unique and magical sleepover gong experience at The Old Baths in Hackney Wick.
This is a night to stay in a peaceful and deeply meditative space, and have a healing and transcendental journey till sunrise.
The evening will begin with an hour of contact improvisation, to take your body & soul on a journey to meet others and connect to your senses - to support, lift & fly - learning how to feel, trust, touch and tune in to yourself and the group.
There will be a little break for tea and time to set up our ‘sleeping nests’ for the night ceremony. After a short introduction, a guided meditation will take you into the gong dream space.
You will be “bathed” in the sound waves of gongs for 8 hours continuously. As the powerful vibrations and harmonics wash over you, they will induce deep relaxation, altered states of consciousness and help to release tensions and blocks. Expect to emerge revitalised and rejuvenated in the morning, and please be gentle with yourself for the remainder of the weekend to fully ‘digest’ the process, which can last for a few days after the experience.
Psychedelic Gong/Sound Bath participants variously report powerful bodily sensations and meditative states often accompanied by rich imagery, visions and insights, or feeling of timeless nothingness, levitation, ecstasy and bliss. The overall experience can feel both visionary & psychedelic.
We will be using various instruments throughout the night including numerous gongs, crystal & Tibetan singing bowls, shamanic drums, didgeridoo, shanti chimes & shruti boxes, combined with overtone singing, vocal toning & medicine songs, weaving a tapestry of sound to guide you on your journey within.
At the beginning of the night the sound might feel quite intensive at moments. After a while we will keep it gentle and comforting till the early morning, when there will be another more intensive sound wave as you wake. At around 6.30am the gongs will go silent for 30 minutes of stillness & reflection; during this time people tend to experience powerful insights and a profound feeling of inner peace and liberation.
The sun will rise at 7:10am, when all of us will be invited to the lounge & cafe area to share our night experiences with each other over a hot drink and a freshly prepared organic breakfast from Gaia Pulses.
8.30pm Doors open
9:00pm - 10pm Psychedelic Contact Improvisation
10.30pm - 6.30am All-night Gong Bath
7:10am Morning Hot Drinks & Organic Breakfast
During the night you can meditate or sleep. In both cases you will feel the beneficial effects of healing sounds of the gongs & other instruments.
What to bring: Clean comfortable clothing to change into for sleeping, pillows, sleeping bag, blankets, duvets, camping/yoga mat or blow up bed, or any other item that will help aid your comfort as you will be sleeping on the floor. Although inflatable mattresses are fine, we ask that you don’t bring king size inflatable mattresses and keep your “sleeping nest” within a reasonable size. Although there are heaters in the hall, please be sure to bring warm clothes i.e. socks/slippers/jumpers & anything you will need to ensure you're nice and warm throughout the night. Please also bring a bottle of drinking water.
We advise you to eat a good meal an hour before the event, but not too heavy, and no alcohol/drugs. Before the Gong Bath there will be herbal teas available with biscuits and dried fruit, along ceremonial grade pu-erh or oolong tea for those who prefer meditating over sleeping. You are welcome to use a kettle at any time during the night if needed.
Gaia Pulses, a cafe at The Old Baths is an amazing project of real, organic and sustainable food with a difference. A morning meal from the cafe is included in your ticket and it consists of a hot drink of your choice and a light breakfast (5 different options inc GF). You can also have a fuller breakfast or something more special on your own cost. Here’s a full cafes menu: http://www.gaiapulses.com/
The event is open to all who preferably have had a gong bath at least once and know ‘what to expect’. It is not recommended if you are epileptic.
Free parking at the venue.
TICKETS: £54 standard / £40 concessions
This event isn’t designed for people to take psychedelics at (though the combination of the frequencies brought about from the sound journey & meditation, can bring about altered states of consciousness similar to those experienced on psychedelic medicines). The Psychedelic Society does however organise monthly ‘Psychedelic Experience Weekends’; for more information please visit http://psychedelicsociety.org.uk/experience-weekends

"They created a container that helped me feel held and safe enough to let go and voyage into myself. The power of the gongs and strength of their chants enabling a deep process within me - catalysed by a skilful balance between familiarity and novelty, between safety and provocation. The food was excellent and they were well equipped to meet my additional needs. The Practioners were clearly at the top of their game. It's definitely the best slumber party I've ever attended!” Mikey
"The environment was calm, cosy and inviting. The night started with everyone moving and dancing in the space, the perfect way to get into your body, stretch, connect with other people and just simply relax. People where meditating, sleeping, cuddling. I was somewhere in between the awake and deep sleep zone for a long time. I started seeing images, various shapes and colours were floating and changing form; it felt like being high on weed. The dreams were vivid and reflected a lot of my fears too, brought my anxieties to the surface. When I woke up in the morning I felt as if my whole body was vibrating. Although I found this experience quite intense, I loved the sound of gongs, voices and dedication of the players. I felt their connection and love for the music throughout the whole night. It travels, it channels, it transforms. Beautiful work" Daiva
