Rewilding Our Bodies

“This being human is a guest house. Every morning is a new arrival” - Rumi

This is a journey to discover your ‘bodymind’. Using the seasons as a guide and muse we will tap into the knowing that emerges from tuning in to the sensations and subtle energies of the body. Something that animals do instinctively, but we have forgotten; to express your intuition, life force and creativity.

When the body and the mind work together we can move in the world from a more whole and integrated place, using both logic and feeling to guide our decisions.

*“.... This body memory converys memories of our earliest existence. It is a form of knowledge which has yet to be thought, and constitutes part of the unthought known.” (Christopher Bollas 1987)* --

‘Rewilding Our Bodies’ invites you to share a conversation with your body and others through verbal, non verbal, somatic and physical embodiment practices to explore our connection and disconnection with our earth home and our home body.

We will draw on Lecoq: The Moving Body, movement meditation, clowning, yoga, ecstatic dance, somatic experiencing, contact improvisation and most importantly, our own inspiration and intuition!

You will leave feeling energised, connected & grounded. You will revisit a visceral reconnection with the needs of your body, a brand new capacity to innately listen and kindly love the self.

I am greatly inspired by cyclical living, and have created this structure to follow the cycle of the seasons, so that we may explore the different energies and opportunities that each one brings.

"We have seen the development of new ecological conceptions of the human body and health strategies that emphasize the need to restore and “re-wild” our bodies that have become separated from nature." - CHELSEA LEIPER---

The workshop does not impose any particular method or teaching but allows you to discover, investigate & nourish your own embodiment practice that suits you rather than a codified set of skills.

The term ‘rewilding’ feels apt and present with our current times.
Rewilding - Term used in the field of nature conservation that refers to the practice of allowing land to return to its natural state in order to restore and rebalance
Rewilding in human terms is a reminder to return to our natural state, prioritizing the needs and real - life resources we’ve evolved to rely on over the past 250,000 years.
