Location: Remote working, preference for London-based
Working contract type: Freelance
The role:

  • Initial period of £15/hour for 7 hours a week over 3 months (£420 a month). After the initial 3 months payment will shift to 100% commission based on event sales. Existing coordinators earn between £800-£3000/month dependent on the number and size of events

We are looking for a self-motivated, organised, and enthusiastic events coordinator to join our team. You will oversee the scheduling, promotion, and administration of several events per month, as well as being a contact point for both event facilitators and participants.  The role requires the ability to both take initiative in working alone, as well as cooperating with other projects that take place in the organisation.

At the Psychedelic Society we currently run events in seven different categories: Nature Connection, Adventures in Awareness (meditation and consciousness), Embodiment & Creativity, Ceremony & Ritual, Intimacy & Identity, Community & Social Change, and Psychedelic Science & Culture

The role requires a love of both the community we serve, a passion for the kind of events we run and an appreciation for the goals we are striving towards. 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Minimum of 1 Tuesday meeting a month to liaise with the events team

  • Managing the relationships of several facilitators

  • Ideating events and reaching out to find facilitators and speakers

  • Scheduling future dates for events and courses

  • Creating cover image artwork

  • Proofreading and editing copy for events

  • Creating online listings

  • Marketing events on social media

  • Answering email queries

  • Dealing with tickets and refunds

  • Handling payments to facilitators

This will be a fluid role, working in a very dynamic environment. Depending on skills and interest, you may wish to get involved with other parts of the organisation. We are currently seeking people who have also have an interest in content creation, business development, and/or community building.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • A passion for events that focus on connection and self-development across our categories

  • An intuition for events that will be popular with our community and on the pulse of current trends in the field

  • Experience in event production, copy writing and social media promotion.

  • Using spreadsheets for budgeting, schedules etc.

  • Excellent communication skills, writing and grammar.
